official announcement of 2020 campaign for richmond city
school board - 6th district

Greetings Citizens of the 6th District,Richmond is changing. Our Community and Schools are changing. We need an awakening like never before! We just don't need any type of change; we need an effective change for our people and our future. I Ta'Quan Grant today June 14, 2020, put my hat again in the ring for 6th District School Board Member for Richmond Public Schools. I am tired of our students, teachers, and families struggling to survive a school system that has not fully heard the voices of our students, staff, and community! I believe we have lost touch with our future, the dedicated workers of RPS, and our families as we try to build as a better school system. I understand the struggle and also been in the shoes of many RPS Students and have seen the frustration of Teachers, Administrators, and support staff.
I believe that as your School Board Member I will be the "Voice for the Voiceless!" While society is changing around us, we need a candidate that will bring your voice to the table of progress! I am a proud product of Richmond Public Schools and have spent 12 years of my childhood and life within this school system. In addition, I am a proud former student of both 6th District Schools (Overby-Sheppard E.S. and Martin Luther King Jr. M.S.) and 2018 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. I am qualified for this position because of my experience of being an RPS Student and having to go through the struggles of many students today from things such as; schools not being up to date, transportation, outdated technology within the classroom, and fear of safety in our schools, and so much more.
I believe Richmond is tired of people getting elected to positions with a whole lot of mouth and not enough of works to show! It doesn't matter about your achievements or degree what matters is the impact you can make to change someone's life. As your voice, I will tirelessly work to make sure students and RPS staff and workers and also families become our #1 priority! I know how it is to be voiceless and not heard, and we need a new and passionate face at the table to get the job done! I am a son of the 6th District proud father of 2 beautiful children and future RPS students, brother to 2 RPS Students, Pastor, and also Community Servant. I believe I am your unique choice to serve on the school board. Please consider to Vote Ta'Quan Grant for the 6th District School Board on November 3, 2020.
